While planning my family 2009 Disney trip, I used this book jointly with The Healthy Guide to Walt Disney World 2009: How to Eat Right and Stay Fit in Disney - The NEW Diet, Dining, Food, Fitness and Complete Weight Loss Book and had great results. Although my family has been to Disney World before, Fodor's guide presented good insight and information for families traveling with kids to WDW. The Healthy Guide offered my family the latest tips and strategies on Disney Dining, making ADR's and healthy choices in Disney for me and my children. Both Fodor's and The Healthy Guide are helpful 2009 guides to use on your next Disney vacation with your kids.
We buy this book every time we go to Disney World. This book is a must have for any family going to Disney. We won't leave home without it. The editors need to do a little more careful checking that pull outs are on the correct pages in newer editions. There are tips for everything in Disney from food, to hotels, which rides are scary, Must dos, and on and on. Stop looking, this is the book you need.
I work at Fodor's Travel. Unfortunately, some copies of Fodor's Walt Disney World with Kids 2009 were erroneously printed with the index from the 2008 edition. If you purchased a copy with this problem, please go to http://www.fodors.com/news/story_3217.html to download a free PDF of the corrected index. Our apologies for the inconvenience.
I don't know if it was just my book but the Index does not match the pages listed. It's off by about 5 pages making this book's usefulness very limited.
The whole index is like that. Since the book is sometimes all over the place, I tried to use the index to find a specific topic I needed information on.
For example, in the Magic Kingdom section, it may have useful info like good resting places (esp. This book does have some helpful tips, but it is not consistent.
Also the index is INCORRECT. if you have small children), but not in Epcot section, for example.
Or the Magic Kingdom has a section about attractions that are good for preschoolers, and the Hollywood Section does not--you have to search all over the place to find this info. For example, in the index, it says that the topic "Shopping, delivery for onsite guests" should be on page 42--it is not.
You would think someone from Fodor's would have proofed/edited the index.
